Winterfang of the Valla

When Amber loses her family in a carriage accident, she finds herself on the brink of death. She is found by a tribe of warrior women hidden in the nearby forest who save her life while marking her as one of their own. Amber has to start from scratch as she lives with a jovial huntress, learns to fight with the other girls her age, and finds new friends and family in their strange but caring culture. Finding her place among them is complicated enough before she discovers she has a mysterious connection to a long-dead giant wolf called Winterfang.

Winterfang of the Valla is 3500+ words of a fantasy story in a tribal setting focusing on a mix of action, humor, and quiet moments of everyday life. It involves a lot of found family, making the best of bad situations, enjoying the simple pleasures, and dealing with sudden lifestyle changes. It's something I wrote a few years back but still remember fondly. I truly hope you enjoy it!
